I'm noticing more and more "for sale" adds for PRS guitars and Orange amps. Is the "if i spend more i will sound better" trend is over?
I, for one, am a connoisseur of cheap gear.

i havent played a prs in years. i dont imagine theyve gotten better? the newer oranges (1990s on) have been complete garbage the entire time. if its not based on mathias schematics i dont want it. i am curious about the tiny terrors.
cheap junk is the best junk. agreed.

i've played a couple orange amps and was not impressed. prs' are great with the slim neck. are they worth $3,000? depends how bad you want one.

shit i spent $3400 on my triamp and my les paul was $3800. Just depends on what you're willing to spend. The cost was totally worth it to me cause that triamp is the most amazing sounding amp i've ever played and the les paul just sounds and plays awesome.

Rick is one onto himself . . . first off, most musicians I know couldn't drop that cash on gear to go play some small clubs. What I was seeing, though, was a bunch of poor musicians saving up to buy expensive gear thinking that was going to make them sound and play better. All these kids need is a Marshall DSL and an Ibanez. Taco and I can't be that wrong

you are correct ed. a dsl or a 6505. $300 ibanez and you're good to go

Ibanez ART100
I'd play one if these any day. Look 'em up . . . $299. I paid $315 for my '75 Ibanez Les Paul copy on ebay, and then sold my Gibson Les Paul.

i still think of them as Ibeenhads. i just think its weird but thats me. im sure im weird to all of you. i can find stuff that i like cheaper but everyone should play what they want. money shouldnt stand in anyones way. i love the gear geek talk though.
priorities... priorities...

yep . . . whatever logo is on it doesn't matter if it gives you what you want. I was just noticing a lot of average players picking up high dollar gear lately. And now I'm seeing a lot of that gear being sold.

i think i spent maybe $400 on my tele... it's the highway one verison. truth be told, my favorite is a godin radiator i picked up for about $150. i do have a les paul that i can count on one hand how many times i've played it.
i really like the ibanez art series. it's hard to find an inexpensive semi-hollow/hollow body guitar that doesn't sound like a well executed fart ie. epiphones.

i know in des moines theres not much market for used or pawned stuff. its hard for me to find stuff older than the 90s. i think guitar center and reeeemans does a lot of business with parents and i agree that theres probably a bunch of kids that think if they have "good" equipment itll make them "good". nobody really wants to learn to actually play.
